# 1 – Your Website Is All Wrong

A cookie-cutter website with poor layouts, slow loading times, and generally complicated navigation is never going to highlight your e-commerce business as one worth buying from. All of these things will send a clear message that you have not thought everything through. Accordingly, you will be increasing the chances that consumers will assume your products won’t be all that great. Hence, the first step towards that all-important trust is to develop a website worth believing in and trusting. 

Most obviously, this reveals the importance of ensuring a layout that provides the best first impression. You can achieve the draw by either bringing designers in-house or outsourcing with one of the many trusted design agencies now available. Whichever route you take, you’ll want to ensure simplified, compelling designs that load fast, respond to different devices, and ultimately shine your products in a light that shows them as legitimate and worthwhile.

On the flip side, a notable lack of support can altogether unravel your efforts.   • Keywords frequently in search
  • Content such as blog posts, social media, podcasts, Etc.)

As online competition grows, the need to prove yourself as the seller worth shopping with has reached entirely new heights. To some extent, of course, all of the corrective action that you’ve already taken is going to help with this, but you’ll still likely find that consumers will not convert if you don’t also provide viable feedback to reassure them. After all, you’re still a largely unknown entity at this stage, meaning that if it comes down to a battle between you and a brand that displays unbiased consumer reviews on all of their product pages, you’re never going to win. Make sure that isn’t the case by taking steps to either supply general brand reviews on your main page or to allow consumers to leave individual reviews for each product. Doing so can be a nerve-wracking move that can go either way. However, if your products and service are good, those reviews are far more likely to recommend your brand in a significant way. 

Trust has never mattered so much for sales, but it’s also never been harder to achieve. Make sure that consumers can get behind you by actively uncovering and removing all doubt. Build your brand, your reputation, for sales to follow.
