Attract the Right Job or Clientele:

In Appreciation

Jim Keenan, A Sales Guy, and the author of “Not Taught”, suggested to our sales group of collaborators that we each write a post about the person who provided the most help in 2016 to show appreciation and encourage others to do the same. As my eyes read the words, my mind instantly knew the answer. Jim provided a host of questions to be answered by those of us taking the time to write. You may read Jim’s answers by clicking this link.

WHO HELPED ME MAKE THE GREATEST IMPACT ON THIS YEAR?

Interestingly, my person to be recognized, Lori Richardson, is the first to respond with her article found here.

WHAT DID THIS PERSON (PERSONS) HELP ME ACCOMPLISH OR ACHIEVE IN 2016?

Lori Richardson, Score More Sales, and I were introduced by a mutual friend long ago. One day, Lori suggested I join an online sales group that was in the early stages of development. The STA group proved to be remarkable in every respect. High-level achievers representing many facets of the sales industry agreed to help and share each other’s work.  My ability was elevated due to the company I began to keep.

WHY WAS THIS SO IMPORTANT TO ME?

The group has expanded as have possibilities for collaborating on a variety of projects. Exposure for each member has grown exponentially due to our combined social media effort. For example, our co-promotion saw us becoming a collection of best-selling authors, guests on many types of shows and listed as top sales influencers by highly credible sources. These results continue to grow and manifest into incredible opportunities ahead. Trading the best insights among members of our group keeps us a loyal to one another, active participants, and continues to produce a win for all.

As a solo entrepreneur, I would never have lasted this long in business. I will be forever grateful for Lori’s encouragement to join the group. Likewise, I will be forever grateful to each member of the group as everyone reached out to mentor, advise and share their best resources.

Thankfully, I somehow landed on Lori’s “lookout list” as her effort on my behalf didn’t stop with the online group. Early 2016, she informed me about the brand new Sales Enablement Society and instructed me to join.

Most of the people were executives in corporate, and I appeared to be the lonely entrepreneur. It was agonizing to figure out where I might fit in, but I trust Lori.  Persistence in attending meetings helped me finally recognize the unique niche that was mine. Further outstanding connections and friendships are in progress and I became a Founding Member. The society quickly became international and is on a very exciting journey.

2016 in Retrospect:

I learned so much from all of these good people who would never have been met had it not been for Lori’s introductions. I will be forever appreciative.

WHAT DID LORI RICHARDSON DO TO HELP ME ACCOMPLISH THAT GOAL?

Lori has a knack for keeping in touch and monitoring activities. Her desire is to see everyone achieve their ultimate goals. The dedication kept me on tract. #HelpedMe2016

WHY AM I SO THANKFUL FOR HER SUPPORT?

2017 forecast: By forging ahead through the worst days to catch a glimpse of the better ones ahead, I continued the effort and kept writing. The reward is seeing a touch of pay-it-forward as people frequently write to say I am their mentor. Just as Lori did with me, I apparently move people beyond their comfort zone. Accordingly, I will be launching the Smooth Sale Community mid-January.

HOW IS MY WORLD DIFFERENT TODAY BECA– USE OF HER?

Early in my sales career, women were poorly treated. It was always my desire to be seen as an equal alongside the other saleswomen striving to do the same. Staying the course through the thick and thin, and participating in the recommended group had me realize that goal.

Circling back, thank you, Jim, for encouraging the acknowledgment of those who make a difference in our lives.  Thank you to you, and the entire group, too!

And thank you to all of our readers who make the journey so worthwhile.

Wishing everyone a Wonderful Holiday Season!
