Attract the Right Job Or Clientele:

Are You Hungry for Business?

Generally, all those new to the sales profession and entrepreneurship or at a seeming hold on revenue are hungry for business. Our livelihoods depend upon it, and corporations depend upon those directly involved with the incoming revenue.

The individual is the first person to assist in turning matters around and is held responsible by the corporate executives. Similarly, all responsibility falls on the individual who is brave enough to undertake entrepreneurship. Accordingly, our blog offers insights into the question, ‘Are you hungry for business?’

My Story

Many representatives sometimes behave like a lion, about to pounce on their prey for the sale. But we all know that won’t work and generally requires seeking new work. Moreover, the more dedicated ones will seek out obtaining professional sales training.

Aggressiveness was never my style, but admittedly, nerves were on high alert in the early days of the sales profession. Each day, my antenna was up to learn something new to alleviate the fear of performing poorly. It was the more relaxed conversations with my prospects that eased my concern.

As time progressed, I realized my prospects at larger companies were equally nervous. They, too, were under pressure from higher-ups to make the right decision about purchasing on behalf of the company that employs them. We were all hungry for business, but concern was deep about better procedures.

Satisfy the Hunger

As a corporate salesperson, I was handed an expense account for business. Slowly but surely, becoming more comfortable meeting people for the first time, I realized we all have a commonality – we enjoy relaxed conversations over coffee and good food.

Three Satisfying Strategies

  1. Upon hearing a prospective client say, ‘I don’t have time for an appointment,’ I would offer to bring coffee and a Danish to the office on their break from work. Next, I would ask for their preferences and set a date and time to meet.

2. Upon establishing client loyalty within a company, I would treat my contacts to lunch at a nice restaurant as a way of thanking them. The conversations became far more engaging, and robust business followed.

3. At year-end, I would send gift baskets of delicacies to my top clientele, thanking them for the team effort on their end. Calls and thank you notes soon followed, plus business continued to grow.

On another level, entrepreneurs are solely responsible for all expenses; plus, most work from home today. The above examples don’t apply entirely, but creatively, we can enter the hearts and minds of our prospective clientele.

  • Share a virtual coffee and conversation.
  • Send e-cards at appropriate times and holidays.
  • According to the budget, send a gift basket to your loyal clientele.

The Essential Sales Strategy:

Always attempt to put yourself in the mindset of each person with whom you meet and however you meet. Meeting anyone offended by the gift of food will be highly unusual. As businesspeople, we may be hungry for business, but the other side is hungry for a caring representative. To develop an effective sales strategy, we recommend looking at a social proof example demonstrating that it’s all about people following the crowd. Get a couple of people on board, and others will follow.

Your Story: Are You Hungry for Business?

Today, few people have the luxury of an expense account to entertain clientele. However, a touch of creativity and serving others well with understanding will alleviate the stress of seeking new business.

Successful selling is about building a relationship for trust to follow. The way to begin is by asking a question to encourage your prospect to share their perspective first. For example, ‘What caught your attention to agree to a meeting today?’

Next, maintaining trust is essential in all regards for business to flourish. The goal is to earn a returning and referring clientele for stress to diminish and for companies plus entrepreneurships of all types to thrive.

For ongoing communications to build client loyalty, consider an e-greeting card subscription to a service that meets your expectations. Send thank-you cards after meetings, new business, and before each holiday. The sentiments, in return, will likely encourage doing the same continuously.

In Conclusion: Hungry for Business

Testing the suggestions above should satisfy your clientele and your concern about business growth. Equally important is adjusting your unique strategies to ensure everything comes across as genuine to your clientele. Hard to believe but true, clientele can become your salesforce in disguise by providing referrals and testimonials – making for a Smooth Sale!
