Are You Open to Listening to Unusual Ideas?

Before we can proceed as being unstoppable, uncovering the burning questions of what we plan to achieve and then answering why it is so meaningful to us is essential. One television show, Ancient Aliens, stimulates the mind regardless of whether one buys into everything the scientists, anthropologists, and astronomers have to say.

The research and brain power behind the episodes give pause for thought, notably for me, the episode concerning Einstein! The episode’s theme spoke about the unusual brain power and structure of Einstein and other unique individuals, including music composers. 

My Story

Most people scoff at the theme that extraterrestrials have visited in the past and that some may still reside on Earth. The idea itself sounds like it’s from outer space! Nevertheless, I greatly enjoy the worldwide anthropological findings, particularly the details of the artistry attached to the pyramids. 

One question for thought is, if the invention of the wheel was not yet in existence, nor other technology, how could previous civilizations construct the pyramids with each stone weighing tons of pounds? Were they far more advanced than we are led to believe?

Back to Logical Business

Asking provoking questions, whether logical or sounding ridiculous, produces the answers we seek in business, regardless of whether we like them. Rather than scoffing at an ‘absurd sounding’ answer, further inquiries can unveil insight we never previously considered nor would we have access to if we were to walk away. 

Even better is to consider how the unique thinking of others can influence future strategies that can catapult business plus our thinking. Upon the introduction of AI, acceptance was slow, but today, it is picking up speed and further innovation. 

What matters most is how we uniquely think, the unexpected ideas, and our willingness to test them. It is the precise intersection, like Einstein, where the idea may sound so absurd but challenging that we choose to work alone until we uncover its meaning and incorporate it appropriately.


One deciding factor for moving forward on our own is to realize we firmly believe in our mission and promise to pursue it with everything we have. There is never an easy road ahead; it is the determination and willingness to correct what does not work well to advance.

A typical response to most is, ‘Your idea is crazy and will never work!’ Should you be one who typically receives reactions like this, contemplate whether you let your ideas go and fade away or whether the passion inside you takes hold to see it through the testing phase. Sadly, letting things go because others dictate what one is to do allows little room for advancement.

Did you ever dream about what it might be like to step into a leadership role? Doing so requires courage in many forms, including the courage to share ‘absurd’ ideas. 

Often, when one continues to receive ridicule in the corporate environment and has essential business experience, they quit their jobs to start their own business and do so on their terms.  Like Einstein, the task requires working alone until the process is formulated somewhat and then encountering like-minded others devoted to supporting one another.

Live life on your terms, and seriously consider the seemingly ridiculous sentiments you hear. You may surprise yourself by uncovering a gold nugget you never considered before, but somehow, it evolves into the perfect fit for your life purpose!
