Attract The Right Job Or Clientele:

Do You Look Forward To The Best For Last?

As we begin to mature, many continually hear that the best for last is yet to come.  The Impatient youth may ask why we have to wait to enjoy life and all it offers?

It’s possible the expression, ‘with age comes wisdom,’ arrived due to the dilemma within the question. Behind it all, we can develop wisdom should we choose to do so.

The learning behind every circumstance we experience is at stake, the good, bad, and ugly. Why? When we pay strict attention to what is happening around us and the circumstances that repeat, we realize which situations hold the most importance for each of us.

But upon recognizing what we each hold important varies vastly among us. Cultural history, ethnicity, upbringing, schooling, and associated experiences affect our priorities. Identifying what we want to fix, achieve, and experience as best for last requires much thought and serious planning for the future.

Repeat: Driving your future requires, Passion, Purpose, and Perseverance.

My Story

In my youth, the expected lifestyle behaviors for girls and mature women embraced the concept of being subservient and fitting in with ‘the norm’ whatever that may be. One to always ask questions; mine is, ‘Who has permission to set the ‘norm’ and why would anyone agree to it if ideas vary vastly?’ The question is forever  implanted in my mind.

My quest was to have a successful career no matter my looks, gender, or lack of popularity. You can imagine the nastiness surrounding me as I came of age. Sadly, the poor treatment did not end in the corporate environment. My clientele was the only blooming flower in my favor, as I greatly enjoyed our conversations. No matter whom I encountered, I strived to have a meaningful exchange with each one, and one by one.

“Meaningful conversations for all parties is the success strategy that works well time and again.

The snapshot of my corporate career is that my clientele always welcomed me upfront and requested my return repeatedly. As a top producer, I was a menace for the ‘good ole boys club’ to experience exclusion plus nastiness in the sales office, daily.

As an entrepreneur, I participated in countless events both in-person and online. There was always a nagging feeling about not entirely fitting in. Accustomed to the lack of inclusiveness, I turned inward and began writing. I viewed the initial announcement for social media with relief. I could finally meet with the people of interest to me vs. being subservient to others. Better yet, a global community at my fingertips was a dream coming true.

Your Story: The Best For Last

Accomplishing your best for last requires much reflection and introspection. It begins with what you may improve upon and old habits to eliminate. Next is to reflect on all the negativity you may have encountered through the years. Consider whether there is a running theme through the commentary and incidents. If there is any truth to it, realize what you may do to fix the circumstance. Otherwise, discover and recognize how you stand out from the crowd, applaud yourself for doing so, and then determine how you may expand upon the strategy!

Your career and business depend upon developing your unique personal brand and how you deliver services differently from everyone else. All the ridicule may be in error because the unique personality does well.

At the same time, examine whether you are one to dismiss unusual ideas, people of different ethnicities or generations. Being willing to listen and consider the unique thought can become the best learning lessons and ultimately tools for advancement. One outstanding example is from a friend in Canada who wrote the following:

My good friend revealed that her good friend in New York City is nothing short of highly inspiring. By the age of 98, the woman has had 12 careers. Her best for last is – she couldn’t talk on the phone last week because she was moderating her Zoom book club of 20 people!

The example above is to begin eliminating age discrimination as there is much experience older people may share. The recurring theme is that inclusion is essential in making a difference in your life and ultimately achieving the best for last!

Sales Tips: Look Forward To The Best For Last!

  1. Eliminate the notion that you aren’t good enough to succeed.
  2. Convert the running theme of what’s wrong with you into your brand for further recognition!
  3. Practice the art of inclusion with all others whom you meet.
  4. Create a collaborative atmosphere for teaching and learning.
  5. As you learn and grow, reach out to communities to help them advance.
  6. Share the lessons you find significant in story format.
  7. Convert your stories into training, talks, and a product line.
  8. Welcome questions and opportunities and reciprocate when possible.
  9. As you plant the seeds, you will have much to look forward to in the best for last.
  10. Celebrate Success!
