Being open to new ideas to experience better outcomes is necessary in our evolving world. Discipline and structure are requirements for building a successful business and developing teams to help the effort. The same holds for entrepreneurship or any endeavor where we want to achieve feeling successful.

One factor that holds people back is not being open to varying ideas, including the opposing ones. For the sales profession, however, it is essential that we carefully consider the diverse opinion and the reasoning behind each. Doing so is practice for excelling in negotiation, which then aids more robust sales and business growth.

Getting what you want is an art of sorts that involves listening, asking in-depth questions about what we hear, listening for additional insight, and continuing the cycle. Only then can we realize how the other person or people think, what they hold important, and how we may deliver to their satisfaction. As we master the process, we can make better advancements and achieve more than our original expectations.

My Story

When we start out realizing our unique personalities, we may feel as if we are in a tiny corner of an overwhelming world. While it is essential to retain our identity, we will remain in the corner all our lives unless we are willing to step out by listening in full to varying ideas that sound appealing and worthy of testing. For me, embracing being open to new ideas to experience better outcomes.

Expanding upon who we are will enable us to leave the tiny corner of the world and travel to unknown destinations. Accordingly, experiences pick up speed, as do lessons we learn along the way. Moreover, the experiences and insights we gain become meaningful conversations we can share with peers or use to train and motivate younger generations. Being adaptable in this manner is what enables us to live a more meaningful life.

Yesterday is over. Your experiences and knowledge as of this moment never matter nearly as much as what you will do with them. The questions become:

  • How will you use them to advance your purpose?
  • How will you put your experiences and knowledge into action?

It is always up to the individual to tell themselves daily, ‘I will do it!’ and then figure out a better plan to accomplish what they wish to do. Being open to new ideas helps significantly. One of the more difficult challenges is leaving people behind who you considered your friends yet never supported your efforts. Sometimes it’s as if you are wandering in a scary jungle to hopefully find another willing to do the same and go forward together. The journey can lead to finding better companions who inspire you to do more and become lifelong friends.

In Conclusion: Open to New Ideas

Our success depends upon us; what we believe, think, and act upon, the people we connect with, and the actions we take. Review where you are today and what your ultimate vision may be. Next, embrace the authentic you to advance your way for the previously unimaginable to occur. Embrace the better guide of being open to new ideas to experience better outcomes.
