YouTube dominates the world of online video, but it is also near the top of the food chain in social media and search, making it vital to use YouTube to boost sales. Video is compelling, shareable and effective. However, video hosted on YouTube is especially versatile and almost universally embeddable. 

The use of video extends beyond just brands.  Individuals, job seekers, agencies, and anyone seeking to establish visibility online can use videos in a variety of ways.  In this article we’ll discuss ways brands can use videos to boost sales, followed by tips on using videos for job seekers.

1. Increase Organic Search With a Presence on the 2nd-Largest Search Engine

YouTube processes three billion searches a month, making it the Internet’s second-largest search engine. Businesses that do not have a presence on YouTube are excluded from being listed on a search engine that reaches more users bigger than Bing and Yahoo! Perhaps more importantly, they miss out on YouTube’s unique integration with the undisputed king of search — it’s parent company, Google.

2. Put YouTube Videos on Landing Pages

According to research, videos on landing pages can increase conversions by an eye-popping 80 percent. Videos keep people on landing pages for longer periods of time. They work especially well when used as explainers on LPs designed receive top-funnel traffic, such as social landing pages. 

3. Use Annotations to Engage Readers

Annotations are graphic text displays that sometimes accompany YouTube video. Annotations can be used as either speech bubbles or links. Use speech bubbles to communicate ideas that are relevant to a specific part of a video, or use them as silent narration. Use annotation links as CTAs, or as links to complementary videos. 4. Create Brand Continuity By Establishing a Channel

Extend your brand’s reach by establishing a YouTube channel that has the same look and feel as the rest of your brand outlets. Use this channel for product videos, q&a’s, landing page videos, etc.  Create your channel with the same color palette, logo, watermarks and font scheme as your landing pages and social media pages.  

5. Use YouTube with SlideShare

Use YouTube videos as part of a SlideShare. SlideShare — which is owned by LinkedIn — drives an enormous amount of business traffic. More importantly, SlideShare indexes text from presentations, which is a great SEO booster.

6. Humanize Your Business

More than any other medium, video gives businesses an opportunity to put a face behind the brand. Embed a YouTube video on your website and your social media profiles. Use video to introduce yourself, introduce your staff, inject humor and show your customers the human beings that drive the business. 

Create a YouTube channel that matches your brand’s design and theme. Use annotations to add a second layer of communication, add video to your landing pages and use YouTube to put a human face on your company.
