My all time favorite style of selling is to have a relaxed cup of coffee or lunch with my prospects. We have a normal friend-style conversation. Almost all of the time, due to the relaxed nature and good environment, we find ways to help one another.
You may find people in common, others to whom you may refer your prospect, and creatively think of ideas to enhance their business. As you begin brainstorming the ideas, you may think of projects which will benefit the two of you, share new software technology to enhance productivity or effective networking organizations. The same applies to those seeking jobs and interviews. Coffee works just as well as lunch should you be on a tight budget.
Very often you will find the other party is so pleased by your suggesting the relaxed meeting and your offer to creatively help their cause, they will reciprocate by gifting you with a referral for an interview or potential business thus gradually converting to becoming your client.
