Attract the Right Job Or Clientele:
The Better Business Strategy Is A Positive Mindset plus Caring
Distinguishing oneself from the crowded playing field requires a positive mindset and caring about oneself, the direction of one’s career or business, and those we encounter personally and professionally. Lessons surround us on how to perform and how not to proceed.
Travel experiences and stories a few connections share give first-hand insights into work-related experiences and during travels abroad. Two topics are at the heart of the story: leadership and caring. Through the years, I have always wondered whether it’s asking too much for corporate leaders to care about their staff sincerely; the better news is that mistreatment encourages people to confirm their talents and desire to pursue their dreams. Our blog, The Better Business Strategy Is A Positive Mindset plus Caring, offers stories and insights below for your consideration.

The hospitality abroad was remarkable in every regard. No matter our nationality, gender, or cultural identity, we felt welcome. Our first stop after a long flight was a hotel in a remote town in Italy. The staff at the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful. They pointed out the benefits of staying with them and how they could assist, and they did, including sharing requested information and offering suggestions of where to visit.
The hotel displayed several sayings by Steve Jobs in their lobby that hold much meaning, including the following one:

Upon getting into one cab and sharing the hotel’s suggestion as to where to visit, the cab driver kindly suggested the ancient city of Padova, which features remarkable historical structures. The biggest surprise was in the plaza, where we saw a sign paying tribute to Yoko Ono.
Business Leadership Woes at Home
It’s still puzzling to know that while the job market made a substantial gain this year, layoffs are all too common. Worse, several people I know revealed that while their employers were doing exceedingly well, they were each laid off unexpectedly. One notable company exceeded its goals for the year yet created three rounds of layoffs over the past nine months. Upon realizing the company in question, I was almost in disbelief.
Subsequently, I have been exposed to stories about companies that do not appreciate their productive staff members. Long ago, I was underappreciated and mocked on many levels. I always hoped things would improve, but sadly, they have not.
For Better or Worse
The lack of sincere leadership to staff as necessary by modeling better methods, teaching the latest in the industry, and encouraging growth among reports is almost mind-boggling and unethical given the inside news.
On the other hand, these times motivate the people I know to create their businesses. Some have already been entrepreneurs, while others are preparing to do what it takes. The better news is that they recognize the differences between good and poor leadership and conduct themselves admirably.
Speak Up or Forever Hold Your Peace
It’s critical to speak up when things play out unfairly, wherever we may be. Most often, this begins at corporate headquarters. Before exiting, I believe it is critical to let the CEO know from your perspective why you are leaving and what they ought to consider avoiding in the future. It may well land on deaf ears, but at least you can take satisfaction knowing you did your part.
Equally important is to privately review all that transpired and your fondest desires for turning the situation in your favor. Accordingly, you can more easily chart out the next journey in your career.
Perseverance
I kindly reminded one friend that while beginning a business is highly challenging and stressful upfront, managing daily routines to take regular breaks plus monitoring expenditures vs. income is critical. She is aware we have highs and lows from previous entrepreneurial experience and will be dedicated to planning, goal setting, and pursuing her best ability to make it successful. The goal is never to return to corporate again.
The Better Business Strategy Is A Positive Mindset plus Caring
The lack of appreciation and occasional ill-treatment in corporate can be seen as benefits in disguise. They motivate us to become independent, strong-willed, and minded and eventually experience success through our own efforts.
Conclusion: The Better Business Strategy Is A Positive Mindset plus Caring
The journey becomes an advantageous experience and a lifetime of lessons to savor. It may even motivate one to write a book!
