Poor Experiences Can Direct Us to Business Growth

Occasionally, it’s wise to remind ourselves about why we connected with another, ‘what went wrong’, and then decipher the lessons we may learn from the experience. Feeling sorry for oneself often raises the question, ‘Why Me?’

However, the positive response for consideration is, ‘Perhaps I was chosen because I can learn better processes for moving forward and establish a leadership mentality.’ Accordingly, our blog offers insights on how ‘poor experiences can direct us to business growth.’

Poor Experiences Can Direct Us

Reflection: A Two-Way Street

Typically, we may feel anger up front upon recalling the unthinkable that occurred. However, giving the incident more thought can help us realize whether we handled it in the best way or if there is room for improvement when the need arises. Often, the bonus for re-examining undesirable incidents lies in the learning elements, front and center, when we pay attention.

Real Leaders Admit to Errors and Fix Them

Most often, the named leaders in corporate are boastful about their talent and how successful they have become. However, for much of the staff, it omits the qualification for leadership. To retain long-standing employees, it’s wise to model learning from errors and encourage them to do the same. Moreover, it’s best to share what one learns from the negative experiences and how they were overcome to model real-world learning and stepping up to rightfully earn the title of ‘leader’.

Those willing to admit their errors, explain ‘the why’ behind them, and share the better way forward are the leaders who gradually build admiration and earn keen attention. The bonuses include:

  • Long-term employment of staff.
  • Encouraging and grooming new lower-level employees to become part of the leadership team.
  • A more profitable bottom line due to the longer-term employment, and influx of more ideas for growth, inspired by those you encourage.

Authentic Leadership Includes Highlighting Others

A favorite example of recent times is the complementary efforts of like-minded people posting online. Accordingly, Ali Alani, Ph.D., catches my attention with his writing. Today’s effort is Leaders On the Edge, published via BizCat360.com. For me, the most meaningful sentence is, ‘Great leaders inspire trust.’

Cynthia Goble models the next leadership example, ‘Our mission is to empower individuals and organizations to cultivate resilience, navigate change with clarity, and thrive—even in challenging times. Through practical coaching, resources, and strategic insight, we focus on turning complexity into momentum. ‘Here’s to building strength, purpose, and sustainable growth together.’

Embrace Miracles to Share

Miracles appear on varying levels, some basic and others almost challenging to fully comprehend; nevertheless, they are ours to heed.  Almost 24 years ago, I was ridiculed for sharing my near-death story, never to share it again. Magically, I was asked to include it in the 5X International bestselling Mission Hope Anthology Series, “Every Heart Holds a Miracle.” This much-anticipated eBook will be available for just 99 cents for one day only on January 15th. We will share the link on the release date.

Conclusion: Poor Experiences Can Direct Us to Business Growth

We must stand up for ourselves when no one else will, and when we find supportive others, it’s wise to co-create ideas to empower our audiences at large. Together, we can enjoy a more meaningful journey as we co-create the new and extend our reach beyond what has ever been imagined. My motto is, ‘Never give up; find a better way!’
