Attract the Right Job or Clientele
Those who desire to excel in sales and entrepreneurship quickly recognize that doing the same old each day does not work for long. It is the routine of self-discipline training that leads to building business prowess and muscle very similar to being in the gym.
My Story
From a personal standpoint, as we mature, the last thing we want is to have sagging skin or heart disease. Mid-life brought a change of diet and dedication to exercising at the gym. Better late than never!
Before walking into the gym, I have an exercise plan in place along with the approximate time allotment. It’s personal goal setting for hopefully remaining healthy.
Likewise, career and business require goal setting too. The ultimate question is, what are you trying to achieve? Once you have a clearly defined answer, have a flexible plan to keep you on track. Flexibility allows for the continued changes we see conducting business. Motivation and commitment to achieve the goals are the typical requirements to make the plan happen.
Early in my career, I would tune out the words, “the average rep will do…” Not wanting to be average, I always increased the numbers and goals for myself. Just like being in the gym, it was hard work, there were days I was out of breath, but in the end, it felt great to be at the top of my game.
Career advancement and entrepreneurship success use the same principles. This month’s theme is to know your motivators for a fruitful 2017. How will you finish out not only this year but next year too?
One of the better ways is to join a motivated community of go-getters to share and gain new ideas. The Smooth Sale Community is coming mid-January. Our purpose is to provide insights for improving your game.
Your Story
Nothing much happens without a serious plan of action in place. For those getting started, concentrate on your weakest areas first to build up overall stamina. Then apply muscle strengthening to the endeavors you most enjoy. This plan of action is the route to achievement.
Make the following your mantra:
- Dedication to a long-term vision
- Pledge to see your New Year resolution through to 2018.
- Challenge yourself to try something new and more advanced.
Make it a habit to continue building strength in as many areas as possible.
The next question is how do you plan to carve out the time to do everything? One way is to set aside one or two evenings a week for a program to advance knowledge. Should you spend time on social media, take a little extra to read the latest news about business and technology. Apply the applicable information to your set goals. The dedication to pursuing prowess is the surest way to get to goal.
Sales Tips:
- Make a pledge to remain committed to your New Year resolution.
- Create a plan of action to see the resolution through.
- Develop a 15-month stretch goal to ensure a smooth transition between 2017 and 2018.
- Learn as much as possible to strengthen your weak areas.
- Build muscle mass for the areas you enjoy most.
- Continue to revise what is in place to achieve more.
- Consider options for career or entrepreneurship.
- Choose the options that will challenge you most to learn even more.
- Reset your long-term goals to be further reaching.
- Celebrate success!
