Have you ever missed a small window of opportunity? 

Most likely we all have missed a signal that would have catapulted our endeavor whether interviewing for a job or the next best sale that was a golden opportunity.  My belief is this is due to being too focused on the current situation, not being open to new possibilities, or simply not recognizing the circumstance as such.

For example, last week I was in San Francisco rushing to an appointment.  The key word is “rushing”.  Had allowed a little more time to stop to comprehend why people were standing at Muni stops dressed in graduation gowns handing out newspapers, I might have had a nice opportunity to find another outlet for my book, HIRED! My thought was, I’ll spend more time after my appointment.  Less than an hour later everyone was gone.  I missed my window of opportunity.

From now on, whenever we see something unique, we must promise ourselves that we will stop, look and listen.  Be fully present in case that next window of opportunity is standing before you.
