Grow your online networks well

When I originally heard about collaborating among a group of like minded people, I was somewhat skeptical.  I had to either prove or disprove it would work.  Fortunate for me, I took the risk of finding out.  One of the high spots in my career is finding the Whispering Energy collaborative group.

All sales cycles inclduing interviewing begins with prioritizing what you want and then qualifying what sits before you.  Does it meet your priorities, interests and goals?  Will the job further your career?  Do you even want to hear HIRED!?  Do you want the person before you as a client or will it ruin your days to come?

Now multiply that question by the number of people belonging to a group with whom you are to collaborate.  How does that make you feel?  Do you have some confidence it just might work?  More than ever, in the situation of collaboration, diplomacy is required.

Before you launch into sharing a project, take the time to know one another, exchange services over video or the phone.  Recognize whether the other person’s coaching helped you and likewise were you able to help them?

Test the waters by saying something nice on their social media pages for their friends to see.  Promote the service you just experienced.  Do they soon reciprocate?  Are they promoting your events.  Are you thanking them and doing the same for them?

Collaboration takes effort and thought. Old fashioned selling etiquette found in the book, Nice Girls DO Get the Sale: Relationship Building That Gets Results. applies to today’s social media world.  When done correctly, not only will all of the participants grow your reach exponentially through one another’s networks but you will also become lifetime friends.  When people promote you without being asked, that’s a Smooth Sale!
