Part 2:  Open Minds Walk Through Open Doors

How accepting are you?

The first part discussion for keeping an open mind was the idea of implementing brand new techniques against the advice of others.  This is the only way you will advance your business.

Next, it is important to allow varied viewpoints into your life.  So many are fearful of moving beyond of what they currently know.  Consequently, their world eventually moves backwards rather than forwards because they refuse to stay abreast.

Pointers to keep in mind:

– Be able to communicate with all age levels on topics of interest to them

– Accept new subject matter in conversations with others as well as points of view

– Attend new groups both online and in-person on a quarterly basis to broaden your own viewpoints

Recently, I did something quite different from anything I had done before.  This week, I attended an inspirational program hosted by the Brahma Kumari’s.  It lived up to how it was promoted.  One of the speakers was a several time gold medal Olympian, not someone you meet every day.  I also met people from many walks of life including a woman who, with her husband, established the first recycling company in San Francisco.  Each person I met had a very unique story to tell.  Had I not ventured into this new realm, I would never have had the opportunity to meet and speak with them.

I do not believe the question is which style may be the best, but rather it is important to be aware of how to utilize all styles so that you may communicate with all age levels and types of people.  I used the philosophy portrayed in the book entitled, Nice Girls DO Get the Sale: Relationship Building That Gets Results.  It’s a five year old book proving to be classic – it rated #22 all last week on Amazon Kindle and is doing very well.  This is due to my willingness to use all media including new video technology to offer sales tips on social media.  It’s cutting edge and is making a huge different in my results.

The bottom line is, the more ways in which you communicate with others, openness to subject matter, and the multiple ways in which you present your information will serve to increase your brand awareness, audiences, and ultimately your sales.  This of course applies to interviewing to increase your odds for hearing HIRED!  In either case you will be headed toward a very Smooth Sale!

P.S.  This holiday drive safely and have a wonderful 4th of July if you celebrate!
