Client or Professional Work – Sales Techniques Apply!

Business consultants and salespeople frequently need to review their work with their clientele to ensure happiness and ongoing business.  Likewise, employees may have upcoming reviews and they too need to be prepared for the best possible outcome.

Begin a New Year pledge early to have continual dialogue with either clients or management.  Let each know about the problems you are working on, the hurdles you are facing, and then eagerly share the solutions you brought to their company.  My so doing in the corporate arena led to my having all of my requests granted.  Why?  By keeping management updated, they had positive reports to provide their management which served to improve their image too.

When it comes time to receive either repeat business, a raise in salary, or a promotion, review everything you did leading up to why you believe your desired end goal should be granted.  But let the other party begin first.  Hear them out including concerns. Only then may you position what you have achieved, and what you wish to say to their interests.   Have  your documentation ready to “show and tell” relating to what was already said.

More information on sales techniques to improve business or sales techniques for interviewing may be found in either of my books, Nice Girls DO Get the Sale: Relationship Building That Gets Results, and, HIRED! How to Use Sales Techniques to Sell Yourself On Interviews.

Following these steps and proceeding in a friendly manner will put you on the path of a Smooth Sale
