Reward Comes in Many Forms

Financial Planning

Community service, in the form of teaching groups of job seekers how to use sales techniques on interviews to land their desired job, has always been a part of my business plan.  Yesterday, I once again provided an hour presentation in San Francisco.

Peers have asked, “How is driving to the City, plus paying for the bridge toll and parking possibly worthwhile for you to do all of this?”

Any small part I may play in helping someone land a decent job is reward in itself.  Yesterday, the appreciation expressed afterward by all was proof I was doing the right thing.  Several people offered to introduce me to other organizations that could use similar assistance.  These are high level contacts to whom I would not otherwise have access.

However, not completely without marketing savvy, I have professionally printed postcards of each book as well as one featuring all of my contact information, products and services.  I asked if they knew of anyone else out of work to please let them know about my book, HIRED! How to Use Sales Techniques to Sell Yourself On Interviews.  They whole heartedly agreed to doing so.  The book itself isn’t a get rich quick venue but it does lead to people getting hired ~ readers write the information led to their new job. The effort also leads to other events.

When we all pitch in to help others as frequently as possible, we make our communities a better place to live.  On the revenue side, by helping others, you may gain insight as to what else is needed in terms of new products and services.  Community service is a win for all.
