Eliminate Guess Work

Mappa di Venezia

“Joanne” confided that she dislikes it when others do not say what is truly on their mind.  She described the time someone adamantly told her that a retirement party was not wanted and to absolutely discourage everyone they knew from attempting to arrange one.  Joanne obliged with the request.  Unfortunately, her friend stated the opposite of what she truly wanted and never forgave Joanne for listening to her.

Most likely we have all come across instances like this, I know I have.  It’s distressing at best case.  However the matter becomes intensified when this occurs in business.  Stop a moment to consider how you speak to your employer or clientele.  Are you speaking honestly when asked an opinion or granting a request?  These people come to rely on you and expect you to deliver your best and they respond in kind.

Honesty is the best policy in all you do.  It will help you get to hearing HIRED! or Sold!  In the future, prior to delivering answers, reconsider the entire dialog, listen to your internal being and then reply appropriately.  You will enhance your business development and remain steadfast on the path to the Smooth Sale!

More information for improving business, sales techniques or for interviewing may be found in either of my books:
