Inquiries work magic

The Enchantress

Making telephone calls today produced some surprising results.  I called those whom I believed to be happily employed at seemingly nice organizations to inform them of upcoming events in the area.

The first event is International Women’s Day.  Those of us in San Francisco are celebrating at the Mark Hopkins Hotel.  The second event will have a link shortly, andt is entitled “An Evening of Inspiration” to provide connections, a fun filled evening and advice on how to land the job one desires.

To my surprise, those I expected to attend International Women’s Day, were instead more interested in hearing me speak on how to interview.  Those I thought might like to receive a copy of HIRED! included at the second event, and who were out of work for quite a while, were interested in celebrating International Women’s Day.

The theme of all this is once again, never make assumptions.  Unless you inquire as to what will interest others most, you will never know.  Therefore, ask – and do so in a variety of ways to catch the attention of very busy people.

Approaching others in this manner will produce a great conversation, and you just may find your next client making for a very Smooth Sale!
