Timely Meetings

 

Have you ever been late to a meeting or the recipient of someone else being late?  The initial contact is awkward and it takes a few minutes for the person who was waiting to settle down and be forgiving.  Here are a few tips to ease the pain of being late.

1.  Call ahead that you will be late; beging with an apology.

2.  Ask if the other party is still able to meet, get permission.

3. Upon arrival, apologize once again.  

4.  Meeting at a cafe with others prior to your next appointment – be seated to look out the window to greet your next appointment

5.  Get up from your chair to greet the arrival to apologize for the previous meeting taking longer than expected and promise to wind down within 10 minutes.

6.  Offer the person waiting a cup of coffee and thank them for their willingness to wait

7.  Greet the person waiting for you with a BIG Thank You, and apologize for their having had to do so.

Now you are off to a far better start and are likely to be headed for a Smooth Sale!
