Attract the Right Job or Clientele: Ease into Moving from One Strategy to Another
Most people retreat from the idea of leaving one strategy behind to move forward with another. The good news is, it’s rarely a good idea to substitute one strategy for another. And rarely will the idea of ignoring the newer strategy work well. Instead, a blend of strategies works best. Even better is when you extract the best of each to create your unique personal strategy.
Intuitive thought may provide excellent guidance; listen well.
My Story
Two different conversations both had the other person thinking of my idea as ridiculous. The idea is that once we implement the better social media strategies, the need to pursue new prospective clients diminishes. The same may be said of finding jobs. The two traditionalists were a bit annoyed by my pronouncement. They are both so steeped into ‘the pursuit’ that not fully embracing it sounds ridiculous to them. My thought was that perhaps they were annoyed because they have not yet fully implemented the new program. Surprisingly, one person admitted this is the case. The problem is that of time and overcoming the learning curve. Becoming familiar with multiple platforms, and learning the better strategies to be effective, in addition to making traditional sales, was simply overwhelming. This is very understandable.
Quick Tips for Moving Up:
- Pick the top 3 platforms that appeal to you
- Join a group dedicated to learning the better strategies
- Exchange success tips with one another
As we learn together in groups, the struggle diminishes and the reward for seeing the learning through to completion is greater. Transforming Today
Your Story
Are you recognizing it’s time to adapt a new strategy but are reluctant to do so? Should this be the case, create a document with two columns: Pros and Cons. List all the reasons you should adapt the new strategy. Next to each positive thought, write down the negative reason for not going through with it. Decide which items hold more merit to pursue. Next, prioritize the new strategies to be pursued. Add notes as to what will be required in order to implement. In some cases money is required, while in others it will be a serious time commitment. Re-prioritize your list for which new strategy will have the biggest favorable impact on your overall endeavor. This is where to begin. As you make progress on implementing the first strategy, revisit your original listing. Times change quickly and may require you change the list of new strategies to be learned. Maintaining this frame of mind and process will have you advancing far more quickly either in business or career. An important note is to not necessarily give up the earlier strategies. Instead, adapt the best of both worlds so that you have all of them working together in unison. This will attract a much wider network to greatly improve your brand and credibility.
