It’s highly likely that no one is a stranger to hearing opposite perspectives upon making a statement. The test isn’t so much about whether we agree or not, but about how we communicate our viewpoint as a novice, a successful businessperson, or someone already in a leadership position. How a person handles their response can be the differentiator for both concrete leadership and discovering new supportive communities.

On a side note, it is vital to continually seek new ways to share thoughts, influence more people, and build substantial networks, so new possibilities can emerge, attract more attention, and ultimately serve a robust audience. The status of leadership rests in our hands, not in anyone else’s, but it is critical to retain authenticity as we build our credibility. Experiences Guide Us Forward

Experiences of all types, both good and bad, have many lessons to teach when we are willing to pay attention. I often say, ‘Our worst experiences can be our gifts in disguise when we are willing to learn from them.’ In this instance, it’s wise to set aside some alone time to consider an unsettling remark or incident from all sides of the issue. Circumstances may present varying reasons and aspects for a disconnect, requiring us to examine it from multiple perspectives.

Rarely is there an absolute answer with only one way to proceed. Instead, our duty is to examine every element of a situation to realize the better path forward. The ongoing practice of reflection and asking ‘What if’ can lead us to novel paths that many may criticize, but that can ultimately help us stand out as leaders in our field.

Buried or Ferlized with New Tech

We can’t ignore innovation and our modern world, incorporating AI, Robotics, and even ChatGPT. Sadly, we read about the new technology eliminating many thousands of jobs. Upfront, it appears that only the tech wizzes will fare well in corporate and leadership roles as technology takes hold across many fronts. Some are expressing concern about how it will affect younger generations, aka, will they still be encouraged to think for themselves, or simply rely on the AI wizzards online?

How we incorporate the new technology into business and our daily lives can either significantly help or harm our efforts. It’s best not to overthink, but to research possibilities and confer with peers and leaders in the field to find a better path forward for each of us.

Ali Anani, Ph.D., asks and offers his thoughts on the question, ‘Is Discernment Fading?’ The concern stems from the rapid development of AI. His words state, ‘The core action of discernment: separating what is important, true, or good from what is not.’

Accordingly, while the developments are exciting on one level, on other levels, it is vital to put cautionary procedures in place to prevent the ‘fruit of the labor’ from becoming a disappearing act for actual labor. More than ever, we must strengthen our resolve to address the missing links in philosophy and in procedures to help reinvent our world.

Cynthia Goble offers sound advice for helping others, particularly in troubling times, as it becomes ‘a win’ for all. People need support, motivation, and inspiration, and those who provide it feel proud to be helping others succeed. Moreover, people are less likely to feel defeated and more likely to feel that hope is alive, putting themselves on the path to success.

Positive Thinking

Although it is necessary to embrace critical thinking to find better solutions over time, that doesn’t mean being critical. Instead, it refers to uncovering missing elements of a larger picture and piecing them together to ensure we have the full picture, which can lead to a far better outcome. Related is the theory of ‘Positive Thinking’. Some scoff at the idea, but by feeding ourselves the motivation to continue and doing daily research on better methods and strategies, surprising outcomes can follow.
