Attract the Right Job or Clientele:
Explore Possibilities to Find the Better Result
While it sometimes becomes annoying to hear others say, “You should do…”, the suggestions are usually worth investigating. Two reasons immediately come to mind; either you find the best route or you can quickly eliminate the idea to move on to the next.
A recent gathering was that of a few known authors and those who wished to achieve that status. The interesting observation was that each of the authors hold a different idea of what the best route is today for not only becoming published, but also selling books. An itemized list includes finding a traditional publishing house, hiring an agent for representation, exploring self-publishing companies, uploading directly to Kindle or creating an account on Create Space. The last two options might require the help of a Virtual Assistant if one is not familiar with formatting online books, or with how to secure copyright, an ISBN and the right digital photos for a cover.
Communicate Vision
The above example was used due to the many possibilities available for getting published. But the same is true for just about anything you wish to achieve, or what your client or next employer wishes to achieve. The end goal or vision should be communicated very clearly. Next, an in-depth conversation should take place regarding each person’s perspective along with insights on the pros and cons for each idea. A constructive dialogue takes hold. In a sense, it becomes a negotiation due to the give and take of ideas.
Prioritize
Once all of the ideas are laid out and the non-favorable ones are discarded, list everything discussed. Ask for help in prioritizing the more important tasks with milestones and timeline included for achievement. The prioritization builds in time efficiencies allowing the vision to be achieved far more quickly.
Reconvene
Once the project is complete or you were able to secure your desired job, look back to consider which strategies worked best. Reconnect with the people who helped you, to share those insights. Even better, reach out to teach those who are in need of your insights. Doing so develops community and provides you with leadership status.
Create
As accomplishments increase, begin posting online all that you have discovered. A new audience will find and follow you, plus will share the appreciation with those they know. As you monitor findings of what is shared the most, you will have gained new insight of what to next set in motion.
As you become accustomed to the continuing cycle, you will be headed for the Smooth Sale!
