Attract the Right Job or Clientele:  

How Do You Get to the Next Level?

After you have been at an endeavor for a long while, you recognize you are at the top of your game.  And then you begin to wonder what else is there, what new achievements are there to be made?  The following strategies may help you to find the new something else that holds your attention as well as motivates you to keep performing at your very best.

Peers

Who are your favorite people who work in complementary fields and are of about equal caliber?  Connect with each to see what they are working on at this point in time, and ask what their future plans may look like.  There just might be an opening for you to participate on an exciting project.  It’s also possible that by having a friendly discussion the two of you will create a new idea on which to work together.

Online

Try connecting with people who appear to have a higher level of expertise than you.  Those seemingly more experienced are usually gracious enough to connect.  The point is we are all equals in that we each have something to share.  By reading of their profile experience you may gain an idea, and once again, by connecting live, new projects may come to light.

Meetings

From a personal standpoint, new to the area and not knowing anyone, for some reason I am fortunate to continually be introduced to business people.  It’s a treat to make new acquaintances and determine whether there is new possibility ahead upon becoming familiar with the work of one another.

Open House

Invite people you know and like to your home.  Establish a networking group without fees attached.  Make introductions and suggest how you see the small group working to help one another as each individually grows their business.  Interesting ideas blossom as the group becomes more personal than that of a very large networking group.

Trade Shows and Conventions

Try to find a trade show or convention in your town that won’t cost a huge sum of money.  Frequently, just by visiting the vendor tables, new ideas are born and great conversations enjoyed.  In fact, I’ve been known to find a job that way.  The company literature is on the table and the people are there specifically to answer your questions.  You get a great feel of whether you wish to either be an employee or some type of business partner.  Lastly, these events are highly efficient because many vendors are there in the same room.

Exploring a variety of ideas will lead you to the right path and the Smooth Sale!
