Attract the Right Job or Clientele:
One New Strategy to Increase Audience Size
The sales mentality is to try as many new ideas as possible to see which one will work best, and simultaneously increase audience size. We refer to the ideas as throwing spaghetti on the wall to see what sticks. This applies to business as well as job and career opportunities, too.
For some, this sounds completely dumb as it is appears to be a complete waste of time. I hear, “Why would you waste your time trying out so many ideas when most won’t work?” Anything out of the ordinary is quickly dismissed.
Remaining true to the norm will keep you at a lower level versus reaching new heights.
For me, personally, I’m creative and can see possibility in many areas were others do not. On the off chance it’s worth giving something new a try, I’m willing to do so. Some of the “bizarre” things I’ve tried were:
- Write a book
People laughed at me for even attempting to write a manuscript with an intent that it be sold to a publishing house. What I heard was, “You don’t write well enough, you aren’t famous enough, you… You get the picture.
But the first book helped to establish credibility and gain fabulous media attention to become an international best-seller.
- Check out what social media entailed
While people told me it would never work out, look at where we are today. Starting at the beginning allowed me to develop substantial followings.
- Keep abreast with new apps
It’s always good to check out the latest software and apps to be certain nothing is missed when it comes to remaining ahead of the curve. These tend to help our marketing and branding appearance, too.
Miles Austin spoke at the IES event last Friday. He happened to mention a new tool called Blab. Initially, I wasn’t certain because it looked like other video tools. But within a minute, I quickly recognized this one is quite different. The reason it is called blab is that in addition to the four people sharing the video screen, posts and tweets may be driven online to have followers report in. No wonder the site is called Blab ~ because everyone has the ability to chime in!
The suggestion was made to use Blab as a tool for promotion of anything you wish your followers to know. At the same time, with the quality of the technology it encourages fruitful conversations.

In the end, this spaghetti noodle became glued. I expect to Blab more in the future. Let’s all give it a try to see if it leads you to the Smooth Sale!
