Attract the Right Job or Clientele:
Rise Beyond to Star in Your Success Show
Just prior to New Year’s many people invariably make New Year’s Resolutions claiming they will do… For example, in early January, parking lots are generally filled at the gym because people resolve to get back into shape. But that only lasts until maybe the end of the month, and then the best parking spots become available.
What happens and why do most renege on what they promised themselves?
Answers may be complex and certainly varied. However, for the most part, the resolution was not strong enough or desired, or the goal was too difficult to attain. Lastly, the resolution may have been too generic because people feel they need to follow what everyone else is doing rather than following what inspires them. All of the reasoning contributes to not being able to star in your success show.
Given this is the beginning of a New Year a few suggestions are provided below.
If the show were to be all about you, how would you define your:
Persona
Which unique characteristics and attributes stand out in your mind regarding yourself? Why are you proud of these and how may you expand them into business or career?
Create a short defining paragraph and tagline that encapsulates how you see yourself. This is known as your personal brand. If this brings a smile to your face, you just might be onto something bigger in the near future with a new product or service.
Vision for Your Success Show
Having created a defining paragraph all about you, what do you vividly picture having accomplished in the distant future? Should you feel the energy and motivation to give this serious consideration, then do so. As others witness your enthusiasm, you put yourself on the path to your success show. Giving thought to the matter, plan some baby steps to get started to see where you land next. You just might surprise yourself by taking action because you are truly excited about the possibility.
Remember, you will never know whether something is truly possible or not unless you take action to determine for yourself. Going on the word of others dictating, “that won’t work” rarely holds true. But should it prove to be true, you can be satisfied that at the very least, you tried. It’s a start to ultimate star in your success show.

I've found that New Years is a great time to start fresh with many areas of life. All of these suggestions make sense, especially the part about Vision. In my business and personal life I often start off with a set of goals for the year. Yet as the year moves forward I'll get stuck in a rut, the busines of doing it, doing it, doing it as Michael Gerber describes, that I'll lose sight of the orginal vision for the year. This time of year affords us time to look back, rise above the daily weeds of activity, and refocus on the overall strategy for our professional and personal lives.

Richard, Thank you for your insightful comments and, of course, reading my blog! I’m slow on the response but appreciative and will ready your article in turn. Happy New Year!
Richard, Yes as the New Year approaches it’s best to think ahead for what one wants both personally and professionally in the New Year. As the old year winds down, it becomes the perfect time to begin charting out new goals for the coming year.
