As others seeing you willingly making quality connections on their behalf, most will reciprocate. Over time, everyone wins. The goal of having everyone feel as if they have won is the ideal for every sale. Introductions are golden as the thoughtful sales approach encourages improved business.

My Story

I always seek out insightful messages on Twitter. Many times, I reach out to the people who send the most meaningful. We usually have an exchange of tweet messages, and sometimes connect on LinkedIn or email one another. As the communication develops, and we recognize commonalities, live conversations are enjoyed.

Today I had a wonderful conversation with a gentleman who is gradually moving from the corporate world to his own entrepreneurship. After exchanging stories and insights, we advanced to locations and new projects. At the end, I recognized a great introduction to be made on his behalf.

Both parties were excited about the potential and I earned a couple of gold stars. I am fairly certain that good things will be forthcoming for all of us.  It is another example for how a thoughtful sales approach encourages improved business.

  • If there is a desire to schedule a one-to-one conversation to further explore possibilities.

As people see you generously offering help, and see you delivering upon it, they will be far more likely to reciprocate. This is how networks grow. Moving back to Twitter, as followers Re-tweet your message, see if they have a message that you would like to Re-tweet as well. Whichever connection methods you regularly use, consider how you may help others. A thoughtful sales approach becomes your best business building tool of all.
