Attract the Right Job Or Clientele:

Will You Use Three Disciplines for Greater Achievement?

Witnessing the news unfold, plus hearing and experiencing stories, three disciplines for unique achievements come to mind. The three are purpose, passion, and planning. Omitting any one concept will make more extraordinary achievement(s) unlikely. Additionally, background circumstances for each will impact your effort, making it necessary to be observant on multiple levels.

My Story

With the rise of remote work and activities on social platforms, information comes to us quicker than ever before and is far more prevalent. It’s challenging to make time for everything necessitating prioritizing what is essential for work, what speaks to our interests, and then confirming the reality of an exciting idea and its legitimacy. By implementing the three disciplines for greater achievement outlined below, you will increase your odds for the better.

Poor Salesmanship Lacks Curiosity, Inclusion, and Respect for All

Most of us are in business or the sales profession to grow our incomes. First and foremost, we must be friendly and respectful of everyone we meet, regardless of age. My real-life example was yesterday when I visited a highly recommended e-bike store. Biking is in our blood, and the time is now for a new e-bike.

Upon entering the store, the salesman was reluctant to come over; when he finally did, he was uninterested in our attempted communication. Instead, bewilderment was on his face believing we are far too old to be riding bikes, let alone e-bikes, which is not common among our generation.

Making incorrect judgments kills sales, and the story makes a case for becoming familiar with the thoughts of multiple generations. When we left the store, we agreed to find another shop that sells the same brand of e-bikes. It is far better to hold an open-door policy for varying thoughts from a wide range of people to enhance our goals and outcomes.

Passion

Recently an exciting opportunity came my way with the tone of, ‘don’t worry, we will take care of everything.’ But for a paid event of any type to occur, we must check into all that it may entail and what we need to know behind the scenes. The one offer uses a platform with which I am unfamiliar. Therefore, I asked another person of a younger generation about her thoughts concerning it. Sure enough, she is very active on the social site, letting me know that it requires much time and activity and can become complicated for many. Although of much interest, the project in question costs money, but worse, it would drain my time and attention for what needs to take place behind the scenes. The person’s advice was to decline the offer, which I did.

Purpose

Upon gathering years of experience, we sometimes surprise ourselves by realizing our purpose for moving past barriers to be where we are today. Although we may be proud of what we have overcome, every person still has much to learn in the years ahead. We can never assume we have all the answers because we don’t. Applying the concept to sales and business, when any uncertainty appears, it is best to ask the first question to potentially have many more follow until everything undergoes clarification for a better decision ahead. Otherwise, our learning declines and the reality of our proudly producing more significant achievements diminishes greatly. From a business mindset, prospective clients typically appreciate our curiosity, admire us striving to do our best, to reward us with a sale.

Another variation of diversity and inclusion is asking generations different from you the concerning questions on your mind. For example, younger people will know far more about newer platforms and technology. Conversely, older people have far more experience earning them some wisdom with specific insights. For life purpose matters, it’s best to consult with someone likely to guide you in a better direction, and that is likely to be a person of an older generation.

Proper Planning

One example we can take from the news is that of the train derailment in Ohio. Completely ignoring indications of mechanical issues on one of the railcar axles, restrictions were relaxed, affecting the braking system. The train wreckage was quickly followed by a spread of chemicals adversely affecting East Palestine residents.

According to an online search, the crew did receive a wayside defect detector shortly before the derailment indicating a mechanical issue. Adding to the mix of upfront issues is that many blame the cutbacks on railroad jobs as partially to blame for situations like we’re seeing now in East Palestine.

Whether our job is to protect ourselves, staff, or residents, it begins with proper planning and admitting to necessities that cannot and should not be overlooked. Otherwise, physical and mental health is adversely affected, and business is dealt a big blow. Proper planning includes the three essential disciplines for greater achievement.

In Conclusion: Three Disciplines for Greater Achievement

Our responsibility is to heed proper planning as a part of the three disciplines for greater achievement. Purpose, passion, and proper planning can lead us to a better tomorrow. But by not adhering to the three fields for more significant achievement, we are likely to affect our health and mental status and witness a deterioration of the business.
