Attract the Right Job or Clientele:
Work For Obligation Or A Rewarding Life And Growth?
As we grow into adulthood, most learn from our parents that it’s necessary to heed their words, whether we like what they say or not. Sadly, most carry that philosophy into the corporate environment and when among peers.
Many people see it as the easy route to retaining a job. However, one issue remains: being true to one’s own principles and ideals can put one on the path to accomplishing what one personally desires. If one merely lives to please others, it ultimately leads to a life of regret. Our blog offers insights for the question, ‘Work for obligation or a rewarding life for growth?’

Beginning One’s Career
The early years of career development can be the most challenging. For example, after one graduates from college, excitement is typically theirs about what they may bring to the corporate environment of their choice. But once employed, they soon hear, ‘You have no experience; listen and learn.’ Not only is it disappointing to not be able to contribute ideas, but worse is being in an atmosphere where one is not wanted.
It’s wise to motivate oneself to show up for a full year before seeking new work (if need be); all the while attempting to learn what you like and admire, and what you will never do again as your career moves forward.
Mid-Career: Eye On Desires
Although it may sound ridiculous upfront, all the challenges we face at work and elsewhere can be our launchpad for achieving our long-term goal, but only when we are willing to learn from every aspect for improvement’s sake. A small percentage rise into leadership roles, while most others must seriously contemplate what they desire most and how to achieve it.
Should entrepreneurial endeavors be your strongest desire, they can bring everything you have learned together in one giant effort; however, at stake is financial stability, as earnings accrue only after investments are made for the ‘have-tos for getting started. Moreover, good credit and readily available funds are vital for ongoing business updates and improvements.
Seek Out Similar-Minded People
We benefit from listening carefully to people who express intriguing insights and ideas, and we learn by asking deep questions for greater understanding. Ali Anani, PhD, once again caught my attention with his recent article, ‘Tension Between What Is Essential and What We Desire’: The title itself describes what most of us face as we move forward with endeavors. Financial concerns on multiple levels are generally at the heart of what we do. Those facing hardships do well to seek out a supportive community, while others may need to tough it out to go it alone until better days arrive.
My example is that of sharing with a person I believed to be a good friend, my near-death experience in the hospital. She belittled my actions that saved my life, to make me realize she was no longer a friend. Almost 24 years since the incredible event, I will once again share my story – but in the company of like-minded people: Embrace the idea that Hope Awaits!

The 5X International bestselling Mission Hope Anthology Series is excited to announce the release of its 6th volume, “Every Heart Holds a Miracle.” This much-anticipated eBook will be available for just 99 cents for one day only on January 15th. We will share the link on the release date.
Conclusion: Work For Obligation Or A Rewarding Life And Growth?
Life throws us twists and turns. Bruce Springsteen stated his philosophy with lyrics well:’Only the Strong Survive.’
Similarly, out of all my experiences, good and bad, I state the following:
‘We only have one life to live, and our duty is to live it without regret.’
