Do you give and receive directions?
Last week, we literally needed directions in order to be a paying customer. The location could not be found. We asked others and they had no idea where to find it. The numbering was laid out illogically as we found out later. No business was conducted that day.
Sadly, that experience was not the first time. If you want more business, you have to make it very easy for others to do business with you – and this should be your first princple of your customer service policy. Change your mindset from “Providing step-by-step directions is too time-consuming” to one of “Helping my prospects, will enable me to build my clientele and my bottom-line.
Make a list of all the questions new people ask of you. Next time when familiar questions arise, you can readily offer help or advice whichever is needed, and do so with a smile.
This process is similar to being interviewed by your prospect. Therefore, your messaging and marketing need to be on target and indicate helpfulness. In turn you will develop more clients and an increased revenue stream. Best of all, your clientele will appreciate you and future business will be a Smooth Sale!
