How do you greet your audiences?
Communication signals come in all forms whether verbal, posture, facial or gesture to name the most common. When in business it is important to always keep a positive mindset, particularly so in person. A genuine smile is your best weapon against negativity on your part or on the part of others.
The saying of how you view the glass, whether it is half empty or half full is very apropos. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak at a morning breakfast meeting. We brainstormed a creative title to market to a wider audience hoping to increase attendance. At the same time the location was changed to the other side of town.
The end result – attendance was at half-mass. I told the organizer that those who did come were my true intended audience and I proceeded in that manner. I greeted everyone as they came in to begin building relationships with my audience.
When my talk began, I asked why they came and what they would like to hear so that it would be incorporated into my talk. Afterward, and o my delight, the feedback was fabulous. Many signed up for my upcoming Workshop Series (click here for description). The organizers were delighted with the response. No doubt I will be referred to others, and very possibly, down the road, be asked for a return engagement.
Possessing a smile with genuine care and interest in others, you will convert prospects into clients and enjoy a Smooth Sale!
