What change can you make to attract more business?
Last night, we attended an event that was truly remarkable in a number of ways. AT&T Park in San Francisco, home to the Giants, normally charges pricey fees for their games and events. However last night, was a very different experience and it worked like a charm.
1. They offered a simulcast of the Opera Tosca at no charge.
2. Most likely 30,000+ people entered the ballpark.
3. A large portion of the attendees purchased food at the ballpark standard high prices.
Changing their mindset from entry fees to no fee, the ballpark cleverly marketed to a new audience and attracted many thousands of people into their sales funnel. A relationship was built with their new prospects.
From a business standpoint it was beautiful – business was brisk having closed many sales. Equally important, they gave the community at large a gift of opera overlooking the beautiful San Francisco Bay. Many sail boats were in view. The added bonus was surprisingly a relatively warm evening. The irony here is for many it was a Smooth Sale!
