Did you ever regret saying…?
One of the most important skill sets to develop well for both business and personal pursuits is marketing-communications. How you approach people, correspond, speak, and body language will “sell” you and your ideas either negatively or positively.
Anonymity does not exist any longer. Unfortunately, some have forgotten the fact we are global and everyone can tune in. This past week the perfect example of this occurred:
A hiring manager at a Fortune 100 company, was about to make an offer to a young man (I can only assume). The male in question put a message on Twitter stating he only has to balance his decision now “against getting a fat paycheck versus a commute and a job he will hate”. An executive from the company wrote him to ask who the hiring manager is because he wants to have a word with him.
Needless to say, I doubt this male will be securing a job there. My suggestion is to think twice before saying or doing something you will regret. Instead, focus on thoughtfulness, and building relationships in public. This is your marketing message and your brand. You will attract more prospects to your sales funnel and close more sales. And, in this manner, you will develop a Smooth Sale!
