Should you be at a party, attempt to have friendly conversations with as many people as possible.  Make it personal first and then lead into work if you care to.  Have business cards tucked away in case someone inquires.  Many times, in the relaxed atmosphere, you do find synergy and areas in which you might help one another.

Know ahead of time your do’s and don’ts.  In the partying case, know how much alcohol you are able to handle before needing to hand the keys over to another.  This advice comes from my being a rare survivor of a broken neck eminating from being slammed into by another car while stopped at a red light.  Being on either side of the accident isn’t fun, and so be advised to negotiate all terms well.

Have a great time with friends and family.  Building relationships well first almost always leads to unexpected opportunity.  At the start of the party, thank the host for the invitation and ask if you may help in any way.  Also thank the host on your way out saying something nice about the get-together.  As you do meet people enjoying the conversation, let them know you were glad to have met.

When business or a special job comes your way just by being congenial, it’s truly a Smooth Sale!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!
