Supporting others produces new ideas and improved results
It’s no secret that when social media first come onto the scene, I was reluctant to share information and uncertain about supporting others given the corporate sales environment from which I came. But it soon became very comfortable to share, and not only help others upon request, but volunteer it ahead of time.

Successful business is all about building relationships; of course this applies to almost every endeavor in life, including job seekers wishing to improve their career. Keeping in touch, and asking for updates from time to time of those you know, is the next step for moving business forward, and benefits all parties.
Belonging to collaborative groups makes an enormous difference in learning, development of ideas, and branding, particularly if you are a solopreneur. Initially, I belonged to Whispering Energy, a group that was dedicated to learning the better practices for communicating online, and now am a proud member of the Sales Mastermind Group representing all areas of the industry.
Just today, I voluntarily posted for a member of each of these groups. One such friend has an upcoming retreat taking place on the San Juan Island. Sharon Hooper is a master at Vision Mapping. Visit: www.sharonhooper.com/retreats And this afternoon, I realized that another friend, Lori Richardson is now in charge of Salesshebang, promoting women in sales.
By periodically keeping in touch, bringing each other up to date, and volunteering support, we find further ways to enhance experiences of the other. And in some cases, we create new projects that move our respective businesses forward.
My best tip on the subject is, whenever you randomly think of someone, pick up the phone to call or email to ask what’s new. You just might find yourself a new partner for a new project leading you to the Smooth Sale!
