Believe it Can Be Done ~ then Go Do It!

In honor of the U.S. Presidents’ Day holiday, and Abe Lincoln in particular, who wisely said – “You can’t please All the people all of the time”, I encourage you to heed that statement.  How many times have you been told, “You aren’t good enough, smart enough, or no one else has been able to do it, what makes you think you can?!”

The past couple of weeks, I have been speaking with and reading about remarkable people who simply ignored common wisdom to pursue their heart desires.  It was rough going at first but gradually signs of hope for an improved tomorrow were revealed, and at long last success was found.  The common bond was a mental self-examination of what each truly desired, and how personal values played into it. And the common thread, was – is, to be strong enough to follow what matters most to oneself, not to friends and associates who dissuad the trying” to achieve the bigger vision.

One such book that I read was by Dan Waldschmidt, Author of Edgy Conversations.  I was truly on edge reading his book as the words flowed with urgency and motivation all at the same time.  Should you have any doubt at all about your path, read his words of wisdom, and insights from having “been there” as well as the stories of others who overcame horrific obstacles but who also rose to victory.

My own personal experience of being “shot down” by others began the moment I announced my business, Smooth Sale, years ago.  A few months later the economy took a hit.  A male “friend” told me I had no right to still say I was in busienss because his male friends had to shut down their businesses.  The very first step I took upon hearing that remark was to redefine the definition of “friend”.  That conversation took place about 11 years ago.

The same applies to finding the right job for your skill set and interests as well as selling to a Fortune 100 company, or attracting your desired clientele.  If you believe you can do it, practice the skill set required, and motivate yourself day in and day out to achieve what you desire.  You will get there.

The first few tries won’t be easy.  But the practice and improvement will lead you to the Smooth Sale.
