“There is more than one way to skin a cat” is the old proverb but it definitely applies to the job hunt, sales, and connecting with people. Instead of being frustrated, you can’t get through to the decision maker, sit back to consider alternative routes.

In the corporate world, I used to ask busy executives if they ever took time to eat. Their response had the intonnation of what a stupid question that was! That was perfect for me, because it was my turn to respond with, “Great would you prefer meeting at a restaurant or shall I bring food to your office so we can talk over lunch?”
NOTE: No one ever turns down food – at least not in my experience.
Finding the email of people who wish not to be found is not always easy. But if you steadily build connections on social media platforms, you will be able to ask to connect and follow up with email or a phone call. It’s so much easier today to connect with whomever you choose, perhaps not 100% but fairly close.
Thinking creatively and reaching out to “see what happens” just might bring you the exact connection you were seeking and move you closer to the Smooth Sale!
