1.  Your clientele deserves your attention first.

Most requests are quick replies, but for the more encompassing, ask for an acceptable timeframe for answering the request in full.

2.  Systematically list priorities for the week and for the day.

Place the most important must-do’s at the top of your list.  For those that may take months to complete, set time aside each day to work on it so that catastrophes are omitted.

3.  eMail can be a burden.

Delete unwanted and unnecessary email first in order to concentrate on the important.  Reply ASAP to the ones you hold most important.  Leave the email holding mild interest, for when you aren’t under time constraint.

4.  Scheduling meetings, calls, and errands.

Prospective calls are best early morning and late afternoon to avoid “gate-keepers” preventing getting through to the decision makers.  Try to fit in at least 10 calls per day to grow possibilities.

In-person meetings usually require a commute. Schedule those near one another on the same day. Tell the client which days you will be in their city. The statement also serves to increase the value of your time from the client’s perspective.   Online meetings are more flexible and highly recommended for improved use of your time.

5.  Personal errands

Sometimes errands just get in the way.  Create your list to complete them all in one day.  Just as you set appointments near one another, establish an orderly route to get it all done in the shortest period of time possible.

All of the above go to building a well recognized personal brand and improved relationships with those you encounter.  Timeliness and punctuality are essential skills for retaining clients, getting the job and the Smooth Sale
