The New Working Retirement Model

Baby boomers used to believe that by the time they reached age 65, they would be sitting in a rocking chair watching the world go by.  But the world has evolved, and so have the times.

Due to greater awareness of mind, body and spirit, and paying attention to all three, some baby boomers are more active and mentally alert than ever.  Perhaps they realize most of their life has been spent and less time remains to leave a legacy.  Should you be one of these people considering building a business or seeking a job, here are some ideas to consider:

– Reflect upon what you enjoy doing most.

Are you able to transfer this to a working business model or find related employment?

– If seeking work, how much of a learning curve are you willing to tackle?

Should your prefer not too steep of a learning curve, then consider your inherent talent and the career you had most of your life.  Although job descriptions have changed, most likely there is something similar in an industry with which you are already familiar.

– Will the work be money driven to pay bills or is this something to stimulate your mind and make new friends?

Of course, if you can combine all of the elements, that will be the perfect world.  Sometimes a choice is required so carefully prioritize your needs today.

By figuring out what you like to do, and recognizing those you enjoy working with and monetary requirements, you will be better equipped to convert your talent into a new business or career.  This is the path that will lead to a  Smooth Sale!
