Do you drive your business as you drive your car?
As we were attempting to make a safe journey on the freeway today (accidents all around), I likened it to driving one’s business in a couple of ways:
First, I hope you drive defensively. In business terms this would translate to keeping an eye on your competition. Are you aware of what others in your field are doing now and what they are communicating to their prospects and clients? By developing your unique niche and brand, you will own that space and drive business around your competition.
Secondly, this would also mean taking the offense to move full steam ahead. Yesterday, the back-up on the highway was so bad, we took the country route to bypass most of the traffic. Similarly, are you continuing to do the same as always, or are you keeping abreast of developing new trends? Implementing new strategies and creating new paths for revenue as time moves forward will put you in the lead – ahead of your competition.
Keeping a positive and analytic mindset on the competitive traffic around you, a larger market will be attracted to your sales funnel. Focusing on your goal ahead will provide you with direction for business development. Prospects will turn into clients and the relaitionship building process will turn your route into a Smooth Sale!
