The weekend is upon us and is a perfect time to contemplate whether we are getting too comfortable with our routine. Those who desire success will dedicate themselves to ongoing learning and take on the challenge of moving past the uncomfortable difficulties ahead. Our blog question of the day is, ‘Do you acknowledge your comfort zone?’
My Story
We each have a natural talent, and often, our careers begin by incorporating the areas in which we excel. But the routine gradually becomes boring, which brings us to a juncture. Taking the challenge of learning and the new areas of interest can be a tough decision for furthering our career. All the ‘have-to suggestions’ often prove overwhelming and scary at best.
On the other side of the issue, similar to in-person conversations, is what will we miss out on if we do not take the challenge? Like weighing the pros and cons in discussions with others, we need to do the same with our internal thinking.
Most essential is to connect with people with similar values, priorities, and ambitions for a collaborative and supportive effort to help one another grow. It was with delight that I had the opportunity to be a podcast guest of Gina Gardiner, who has made remarkable strides herself. We both were challenged to do ‘the impossible,’ as you will hear in our conversation.

You aren’t alone if you desire to ‘play it safe’ or, for example, believe that learning about AI is too cumbersome. However, during these moments, it’s essential to ask oneself, what will happen if I don’t take the time to learn and stay ahead of the curve? We all know the answer: our livelihoods may be in jeopardy to face a downhill battle with our mindset.
On down days, seek out inspiring stories of others to lift yourself to a better place in time.
Coincidentally, you will be recognizing who and what inspires you can also be the turning point for purposefully seeking out more of the same moving forward. The change in thinking will motivate you beyond what you initially believe you can achieve, and the momentum will continue with concentration.
However, the better way to retain the momentum is to create your long-term vision and then work backward, setting timely goals to achieve it. Once you feel comfortable with the system, challenge yourself by setting almost unrealistic goals to see if you can do it!

Once you are in the swing of accomplishing your goals plus more, there is one more generous and welcome approach you may consider. Begin sharing your experiences, the good and the bad, plus the lessons you learned in your journey to help and encourage groups locally and afar. The internet is the easiest way to begin by sharing your insights to help your audience succeed.
