Attract the Right Job Or Clientele:

Do You Want to Minimize Errors?

Please notice the word ‘minimize’ in the title, ‘Do you want to minimize errors?’ We all want to eliminate future errors, but most realize that will never happen; however, we can take steps upfront to minimize them.

Integrity and trust are everything for successful careers and business; paying attention to the errors in our path is essential to retain our good name.

My Story

Worse than making an error is when it affects another or many. It is necessary to offer an immediate apology and commit to fixing what is incorrect. Putting off the fix will only damage the reputation.

Executives will do well to train their teams to acknowledge errors that may occur while conducting business. As a salesperson, I would ask how my clients foresaw the fix upon realizing something wasn’t right. Some issues were easy to address, while others were more complex and all-encompassing. At the latter point, I quickly stated what the company can and cannot do to inquire whether we may proceed to improve what we could.

Presenting an honest assessment of what we and the company can and cannot do is another avenue for establishing value that will encourage doing further business with us.

On occasion, it becomes necessary to ask for a ‘do-over.’ It can be costly for the business selling the service, but it will be more expensive if we do nothing to fix the situation. Client loyalty plus referrals and testimonials are hanging in the balance, without which business becomes quite challenging. Worse is receiving poor word of mouth that can harm future business growth entirely.

It is always best to review the day at nighttime to realize what worked well and how you may improve the next day’s effort. And when you understand what is not working as promised, it will benefit all to focus on improving what isn’t right.

Your Story: Do You Want to Minimize Errors?

Everyone receives complaints, and the focus is quickly straightening out as much of it as possible. But a more vital step is necessary. Sometimes, slowing down is a part of the equation for improving matters. Reflect on whether the same error repeats occasionally to realize precise changes that need to occur.

Other times, unusual mishaps that require research or hiring help to fix the issue(s) may occur. Clients monitor the efficient efforts people and companies take to correct wrongs. Planning is vital in case mishaps do occur. One example is the necessity of having a surplus of funds to take care of these occurrences.

Entrepreneurs will do their best to review unique and common issues that arise to avoid them in the future. Planning is the better strategy to prevent further unnecessary catastrophes. And business will do well to have inclusive discussions with their teams about how they may avoid other mishaps in the future—research on the industry at hand and the latest development.

The benefit to the extra work you put in is that clients are watching to become your salesforce in disguise when you perform on their behalf.

In Conclusion: Do You Want to Minimize Errors?

Make it a habit every evening to review what took place during the day to make improvements for tomorrow. But also ensure you recognize what you do well to multiply the effort moving forward. The goal is to do your best in every way possible to earn a returning and referring clientele.
