How we treat sad experiences, including memories of loved ones, can either bring about depression or anger. Or one can ultimately see the light, embrace it, and move forward in unexpected ways. No matter the situation, we control our own destiny, making it critical to examine all sides of a harrowing experience.
Our theme arrives from Ali Anani, Ph.D., who wrote insights concerning ‘Erasing sad memories’. He ultimately advised that ‘If we focus on a memory, we magnify it. The idea is to keep our minds busy with alternative activities, so we have less time to think about our loss. Our blog offers insights on ‘Memories can be the cornerstone for new achievements.’

The Sudden Stop
Often, when a sad situation arises, we beat ourselves up out of guilt. But typically, when tragedy occurs, numerous factors combine to cause the detrimental outcome. It’s best to come to terms with all the underlying factors that led to the undesirable event. Only then can one realize errors along the way, correct them, and pave a new path forward.
Sad Experiences Teach Valuable Lessons
Many have fond memories of the older generation to realize the teachings they gave and how they became advantageous. In comparison, others may have disdain for some to come to grips with what not to do themselves as they move forward.
One recent, noteworthy story is of someone whose parents and relatives passed by the age of 40 due to a genetic issue. However, the one remaining person researched the latest technology that assists the heart. Being of the same age, he chose to use the new device to hopefully enjoy a longer lifespan.
The above story coincides with my motto: ‘Never give up, find a better way!’
Memories: The Good and the Bad
For those of us fortunate enough to live a healthy life, we often recall experiences with our families, some good and some that leave behind excellent lessons that remain with us. Sadly, it is evident that one relative favored her daughter over her son, as he led a troublesome adulthood. In childhood, equality was nonexistent, but it was always a goal of mine. More than ever, I greatly enjoy being in the good company of our family.
Coming soon will be the sixth anthology edition of Mission Hope. There is power in hope, dreams, and visions for making each one our reality.

The decision is ours alone whether to heed the lessons we learn to improve our years ahead or bemoan them and feel sorry for ourselves. However, those willing to examine all the issues underlying the central theme will ultimately realize their better path and enjoy a more fulfilling life.
