Six Effective Internet Strategies:  Attract the Right Job or Clientele

Automation definitely saves each of us time. However, it is wise to carefully examine the pros and cons for each app you are about to implement. On top of that we want to keep all of our information safe to avoid serious difficulties. In the past 24 hours, two messages were sent my way prompting today’s blog.

My Story

Today a colleague sent an update regarding the LinkedIn saga regarding 6.5 million accounts being hacked. Viveka Von Rosen forwarded the news from CNN that the number of accounts affected was actually 117 million. She is the co-author of the new book, LinkedIn Security, Who’s Watching You?  It should be a well-worthwhile read.

Password Safety

Her message also explained why a family member, upon request, sent his updated password for another account. I kid you not, it was about 22 character spaces long to include letters, numbers and special characters. The likelihood of someone guessing it is minimal. It’s a lesson in how to create new passwords. Capture them somewhere safe and change frequently.

Website Automation

The other internet topic is automation. Larger companies provide a Chat feature on their website. It’s outstanding when enough employees are available to reply within a reasonable amount of time. But if there is an unusual wait, there should be a way to inform the customer.

Social Media Automation

Another example is that of some automated services applied to Twitter accounts. The messaging needs to be read after the service is put in place to make certain it makes sense. Part two is to double check that thought out of alignment with your own thinking is not automatically posted.

Your Story

Are you routinely checking your accounts to be certain they haven’t been hacked? And are you changing your passwords from time to time?

Additional strategies to remain up-to-date:

Take classes

Classes of every type are available to us both online and in-person. Make it a habit twice a year to take something you need to learn or you particularly want to learn. It will make a huge difference in your business

Attend events

Once per year, treat yourself to a conference to learn the latest in your industry. Network with like-minded businesspeople and learn from industry experts. It’s a huge opportunity to learn from many people at one gathering. And if you are a job seeker – this is the most efficient way to seek out job opportunities, and meet the people involved.

Business issues of every type are what will keep you on a steady path for growth. Previously mentioned, I strongly encourage you to consider the Global Finance & Credit Conference & Expo.  It will be live streamed worldwide. Should you decide to attend, use the code ES100 to save $100. I will be speaking on the topic of building a global brand.

Talk to technical people in the know

I’m the creative type, and so I’m always very appreciative when family members and friends provide the insights I need. If you are technical, get the creative scoop from someone in your network to be certain all systems are in tip top shape.
