Fearful Of Speaking: I was afraid. Scratch that, terrified.
Putting together a single sentence was a struggle. And public speaking sent me running from the room as I feared speaking. But now, I’m communicating at the highest level of value on the world stage, and I get to train and empower purpose-driven visionaries.
What I Learned About Being Fearful Of Speaking
Everyone struggles with being fearful of speaking. It varies from person to person, but the fear is real and can rob the world of our unique gifts. It is especially true for those called to share their story. Who are these people?
- Those with a calling
- Fellow visionaries.
My passion is to help others find the clarity that increases their confidence. They then welcome communicating their messages to the market in record time. Purpose-driven visionaries use their voice to serve others.
How did I get here? How did I overcome my fear?
Growing up, I was an introvert. I had a stuttering problem that concerned my teachers and my family. So, I was held back in 2nd grade. I took speech impediment classes from first grade through fifth grade.
Even though teachers helped, no one understood the root behind how I was acting. I got into a lot of trouble. No one could figure out what was going on with me. The question was why I became rebellious and was not empowered.
But I knew.
When I was little, my father had a heart attack and passed away at the incredibly young age of 29. I never really got to know him. And that deep desire for a relationship with someone who was no longer there created a hurt I didn’t know how to deal with.
So, I acted up.
Today, my “why” is to help others understand themselves so they can get out of their own way. The goal is to help them gain that confidence to communicate their gift to the world.
You see, I believe every one of us has a gift.
- Every entrepreneur.
- Every business owner.
- Every student.
- Every visionary.
- Every individual.
Our unique gift manifests when we use the service of speaking. The door opens for us when we articulate well and breathe life into what we bring to this earth. Those who think, “I just can’t do public speaking.” know that you have a gift. You owe it to the world to get it out there.
I believe that deep within each of us is a speaker. You don’t need an audience of thousands to have your voice heard. And every speaker is a writer. Whether a blog or a video course, you have a story to share and a lesson to teach. And every writer is an author. You alone can craft and shape how your unique gift will inspire the world. It could potentially manifest itself into a book.
All of the above is what I learned in my visionary’s journey. I found my voice. I honored my vision. And now, I’m bringing it to the world. I left being fearful of speaking far behind.
After empowering hundreds of business owners and entrepreneurs struggling to grow their businesses, I saw a pattern. They were struggling to scale with a consistent system. And they couldn’t seem to increase their bottom line.

If I had known upfront to lead with my end result and speak to value, I would have saved considerable time. I could have begun protecting the future of my family sooner. But I’m thankful for where I am today. My journey made me clear about what I want to give this world. It gave me the time to harness and prove my methods of training other visionaries.
