Family, projects, email, book, – what does one do first to remain on track?
If you are like many, at times it is difficult to know what to do first and sometimes we feel guilty for making a difficult decision. My suggestion is to recall why you first began your business. What was your mission at that time and is it still the same?
Next, review where you are headed and what needs to get done. Are you setting time aside every day to work on those bigger projects? These are what accelerate your business development to attract additional prospects with a greater likelihood of converting them into clients. Keep a running task list each working day so that you can find extra hours in the day to get more done.
The balancing piece is acknowledgment of your family and friends – their expectations of you. What agreements have you made prior per your work hours, activities you will share and exceptions to your collective rules? What is your highest priority in regard to those rules you established?
Selling and closing sales applies to your personal life too. If you are having difficulty sticking to your personal agreements, then communicate your concerns and re-negotiate how you can all come to agreement. Building relationships with everyone is essential to close more sales and/or get what you want in an agreeable manner. When you operate this way, most often your wishes will be granted.
This topic comes to mind because I am needing to balance my priorities right this minute. Normally, I do not write a blog on the weekend but here I am doing so because we are about to leave to celebrate our 35th anniversary. I promised my husband minimized computer time!
We’re looking forward to have fun for the next 48 hours and without any conflict whatsoever so that our celebration will be a very Smooth Sale!
