Do you introduce yourself, recommend and keep in touch?
The above three-step process pretty much describes the selling process and when you add the finer points of building relationships, your revenue greatly increases. Let’s look at this step by step.
1. Introducing yourself.
Always begin from the other person’s point of view. In person networking can begin with a question, “Hi, what type of business are you in?” Let the other person talk and then you will know how to customize your own introduction.
2. Recommend.
As the conversation develops, it becomes clear as to how I may help the other party by making recommendations as to where they may interview, a community to join or an expert to seek out. It’s the concept of giving first.
3. Keep in touch.
I follow-up as to how my prospect is doing, what new projects they are working on and ultimately how we might help one another. This is where prospects turn into clients.
When you add in communicating with integrity and working to build the relationships, you soon become seen as the expert in your field and with whom others wish to work. Sound customer service policies and the ease of doing business with you enhances your business development.
These all evolve into your marketing message about you and your business and evokes the law of attraction without having to do a hard sell. in fact, you will be well on your way to a very Smooth Sale!
