Who do you know in your network that has the skills you need to develop your area of expertise and show case your talent?  Job seekers, who do you know in your network that is savvy with career advice or who might know the right people at companies where you wish to work?

Step 1:  Develop a Weekly Peer Coaching Program

Set an hour aside each week dedicating 30 minutes to each of you.  The first call will be to share where you are today and what you are trying to accomplish – your largest vision as well as your first steps.  Ask questions of one another to fully grasp what the other is trying to achieve.

Step 2:  Give Thought to what was shared

Each week take 5-10 minutes each speaking of accomplishments made toward those first steps expressed.  Share your week’s thoughts of how your partner may improve, then discuss and refine the newly perceived strategies.  At the end of each weekly call, state your new next steps to be taken.

Step 3:  Accountability

Each should hold the other accountable for actions.  Ask the game plan and the following week check to make certain it was followed.  Discuss difficulties encountered and strategize ideas on how to overcome.  Give encouragement and praise.  In the end, you will both have achieved far more than might have been done alone, and in most instances, you will develop a solid bond between you.

Adapting to this mindset of seeking and giving help will lead you to a much broader perspective and further develop your brand.  The speedy progress made will turn heads asking how you did it, and catapulting you to a position of leadership.

In the end, your bond will lead to the right job, referrals and testimonials – all leading to the Smooth Sale!
