Employee – Contractor Appreciation Day

Through the years there have been certain companies that stood out as being “the Best to work for” because they appreciated the time and effort put in by their employees.  In fact, employees were treated with respect.  Unfortunately this is becoming less and less true over time.  As an entrepreneur, reading about the corporate environment, consider those who provide occasional services for you.  Are you doing everything you can to acknowledge their help and show them proper appreciation?

Stories heard today, it seems as if companies promise excellent compensation but once employed, seek ways to not pay it.  In fact I’m hearing of corporations in competition with their salesforce.  Translated, if you contact the company directly, you get a cheaper price because the sales professional is not involved.  No wonder loyalty among employees is dwindling.  In the end, it costs companies a lot of money to keep re-hiring.

As a former corproate sales professional, I enjoyed earning awards and trips but that is not to what I am referring.  Those were the bonuses.  The best company I worked for was where excellent training was frequently available for us to become even better.  Our dedication to learning and producing brought about not only increased sales but also appreciation and respect.  We were motivated to remain with the company and continue doing our best.

As the mindset is changed to regard people who do work for you as your clientele, they, in turn, will provide you with great word of mouth branding. Appreciation serves to attract a larger clientele along with repeat business, referrals and testimonials.  This is the definition of the  Smooth Sale!
