Prior to meeting with an employer or potential client, and after you have done all the research for familiarity, the next steps are to put a plan in place for desired outcome.
1. What is your best outcome in mind?
From the other person’s persepctive, what do they need to experience or hear in order to recognize the benefit of working with you?
2. What are the options between the answer of “No” to the best possible outcome for all concerned?
Hold an idea of possibilities as a starting point in order to grow into the best possible outcome. Be flexible in case they suggest possibilities of which you never considered.
3. Prior to your meeting, have everything you need to establish sound credibility
For important meetings and interviews, be of the mindset to start putting things next to the door or in the car so that nothing is forgotten when you are running on adrenaline in anticipation of your meeting.
Upon arrival, smile and be well prepared to primarily listen. Inbetween what is being said, you will hear underlying tones of what’s not being said providing you with additional as to further quesitons to asked. This is one of your best business developing techniques that enables you close in on the sale.
