Embrace the Tried, True and New

Upon seeing a clock pole of yesteryear, on the sidewalk, and reading numerous articles about adapting to mobile marketing and advertising, it became evident we need to embrace the best of time immemorial.  By doing so, you reflect that you are a modern thinker but have great appreciation for those who have gone before you.

More than that, it signifies thoughtfulness and deep thinking on your part along with flexibility.  Embracing the old with the new techniques that now work best becomes a favorable marketing message about your personal band.  This is what will attract new clients and potential job offers.

In your down time, think about everything you have done up to date that has worked out to your favor in spite of what others predicted “won’t work”.  Consider which strategies and techniques that you implemented are more old-fashioned and which are trendy.  Did any of these lead to recognition and/or award, or special accomplishment?

Communicate with Confidence

Review your profiles online along with your resume to make certain they too are up to date.  In conversation, do you let others know what worked to your favor and do you honestly share what did not work so well?  As far as those items not working well, have it in your arsenal of talking points what you learned from the experinece, and if the “not so well” pointed you to a better direction.  These are points your prospective clientele will want to hear as they may be facing the same, and hiring managers do as well to know you are honest, hard working and will always work toward doing your best.

New in-roads

The beauty of reflecting on what you have done to date, and being of the mindset to do so on a regular time and basis, becomes a habit that empowers your future endeavors.  Insights discovered become a habit and lead you to the Smooth Sale!
